The Warriors have crushed South Africa by an innings and 48 runs in their tour match at the WACA, destroying the Proteas batting line-up for the second time in as many days.
The visitors went into lunch struggling at 5-120, but it soon got much worse as they lost 4-44 after the break to be all out for 164 in their second innings, with Charl Langeveldt unable to bat due to a chest infection. .jpg)
Beau Casson finished the game with figures of 8- 88 and seemed to continually trouble the South Africans on a pitch not renowned for spin.
Adam Voges was named man-of-the-match after his brilliant century set up the Warriors first innings total of 8-391 declared.
The visitors came out from lunch needing a further 93 runs to force WA to bat again, but it looked unlikely when Shaun Pollock was dismissed for a quick-fire 25 after edging a Steve Magoffin delivery straight to Justin Langer at first slip.
South Africa looked certain to have something to celebrate as Ashwell Prince approached his half-century, but he fell just short when he was caught behind off Magoffin for 49.
Things then went from bad to worse when Makhaya Ntini mis-judged a Casson delivery to be dismissed LBW for his second duck of the match.
That left South Africa 8-152, still 60 runs behind WA and in plenty of trouble.
Casson completed the rout when Andre Nell edged him to slip, which was safely caught by Justin Langer.
Earlier in the day, South Africa resumed on their overnight score of 2-25, with Prince and Jacques Rudolph the not-out batsmen.
The visitors were forced to follow-on by Warriors captain Justin Langer the previous day after South Africa crumbled to be all out for 179, a massive 212 runs behind WA’s first innings score.
Prince was given a life early on the final day when he was dropped at point by David Bandy, who was unable to hang-on to a difficult catch off the bowling of Magoffin.
Ben Edmondson soon had the Warriors first break-through of the day after Rudolph’s mis-timed pull shot skied into the air and was easily caught by Casson.
Warrior’s debutant Shawn Gillies was brought into the attack midway through the first session, but was unable to replicate his first innings heroics of 3-41.
South Africa was soon reduced to 4-67 after Justin Kemp (8) was caught in the deep after trying to smash Casson down the ground.
Mark Boucher and Prince looked solid and built up a cautious 28-run partnership before Casson broke through again for his sixth wicket of the match, Boucher (14) edging him to Langer at first slip.
