Vettori ruled out, Bracewell in team

Former BLACKCAPS batsman Daniel Vettori has been ruled out of playing in the second Test against England, which starts Friday night New Zealand time. 

"We sat around and spoke about how he's feeling. He gave it his best shot but didn't want to let the team down," said BLACKCAPS captain Brendon McCullum.

Fast bowler Doug Bracewell replaces the injured Bruce Martin in the team.

BLACKCAPS wicketkeeper BJ Watling has been ruled out of the second Test against England starting on Friday.

Watling, who injured his left knee diving for a run out on the third day of the first Test, trained with the side at Headingley Carnegie this morning but was ruled out after training.

Captain Brendon McCullum will wear the wicket-keeping gloves for the second Test, and Martin Guptill will come into the XI and bat at number six.

Spinner Daniel Vettori trained with the team today and he will be assessed after tomorrow’s training as to whether he can be considered for the match. Spinner Bruce Martin suffered a calf muscle injury in the first Test and has left the group.
