Rained interrupted the start the play again on day three with the games were reduced to 15 overs. However once the action got underway it was a familiar story as Christchurch Girls and Palmerston North Girls outperforming the others to sit top of the table at the end of day three.

St Kentigern College v Palmerston North Girls’ High School
Palmerston North Girls’ High School won the toss and decided to field. They got off to a good start, key batsman Francesca Wilkinson being run out early.
Tight bowling by Girls’ High, including three maidens, meant St Kentigerns struggled to increase the run rate during their 15 overs. It was an action packed finish to the innings, with Nikita Hannam sitting on a hatrick twice and claiming 4 wickets for no runs, to leave St Kentigern College on 38 for seven.
In reply St Kentigerns bowled well and when Malia Pusiaki was thrown the ball she with struck with her first delivery. However, chasing just 39 to win, Girls’ High comfortably chased down the total, with Hannah Rowe batting positively for an unbeaten 18. St Kentigern College 38/7 (C. Oscar 13*, N. St Mary’s College v Christchurch Girls’ High School
St Mary’s College 50/5 (T. Setefano 17*) LOST TO Christchurch Girls’ High School 51/3 (A. MacKechnie 15*)
St Mary’s struggled from the get go when they batted against Christchurch Girls’. The team from Canterbury bowled very tight lines and minimized run scoring opportunities all innings. St Marys finished their 15 overs with 50 runs on the board. Tricia Setefano top scored, finishing on 17 not out.
Christchurch Girls’ came out aggressively and hit the winning runs in the tenth over to complete a compelling win.
Hillcrest High School v Wanganui Collegiate
Hillcrest High School won the toss and batted first against Wanganui Collegiate.
An early wicket from Anna McIlraith saw crucial batsman Erin Mascelle dismissed in the third over. A solid partnership of 74 from opener Steph Goile and number three Heidi Ardnt saw Hillcrest reach the very respectable total of 110 for two.
Wanganui Collegiate lost an early wicket, but steadied the ship with a second wicket partnership of 61 between Millie Holden (35*) and Georgie Blackwood (31).
Tight bowling and sharp fielding saw Hillcrest curtail Wanganui’s run chase, leaving them 25 runs shy of victory.

Westlake Girls’ High School v St Hilda’s Collegiate
Westlake Girls’ High School 67/6 (A. le Marquand 21, M. MacDonald 2/13 C. Blakely 2/8) v St Hilda’s Collegiate 68/0 (C. Blakely 22*, P Inglis 33*)
Westlake won the toss and elected to bat on a sodden field. After a slow start, Kate Manihera and Alice le Marquand looked to accelerate the run rate, successfully doing so as they put on a well-constructed partnership of 30.
Alice le Marquand top scored with 21 before being caught and bowled by Caitlin Blakely in spectacular fashion. In the final over le Maquand pushed the ball down the pitch, where it ricocheted off the non-striker, allowing Blakely to snare the catch.
For St Hilda the pick of the bowlers were Mandy MacDonald with two for 13 and Blakely with two for eight.
In reply St Hilda's never looked in doubt. Openers Blakely and Polly Inglis brought up the winning runs in the 13th over to record a ten wicket win.

Christchurch Girls’ High School v Westlake Girls’ High School
Westlake won the toss and chose to bowl. The decision was vindicated when they made two early break throughs, dismissing Emma Hartland and Ann MacKechnie cheaply. It left Christchurch Girls’ High School reeling at nine for two, but Hana Mauafu 18 and Meg Lay 17 resurrected the innings playing some great shots all around the ground, compiling 45 for the third wicket.
After their partnership was broken wickets fell at regular intervals. The wickets were evenly shared amongst the bowlers.
Westlake made a solid start in chasing Christchurch Girls total of 105, accumulating 30 for the first wicket before Eryn Crombie was dismissed for 15. Christchurch Girls High School continued their fine form in the field, restricting Westlake to 72 for four in their 20 overs. It was a big win for Christchurch girls and they remain unbeaten in the tournament.

Wanganui Collegiate v St Hilda’s Collegiate
St Hildas had Wanganui on the back foot after opening bowler Emma Paisley took a screaming catch off her own bowling to dismiss Amy McKeefry. Tight bowling throughout the innings meant Wanganui Collegiate struggled to gain any momentum and wickets fell at regular intervals. Paisley took another outstanding catch in the field, helping her team to dismiss Wanganui Collegiate for 52 in the 15th over.
In reply, St Hilda’s openers batted positively from the outset. A superb innings from Polly Inglis (31*) and Catlin Blakely (17*) saw St Hilda’s knock off the required runs in the 11th over for another ten wicket win.

Hillcrest High School v St Kentigern College
St Kentigern College won the toss and decided to field. Some tight bowling saw Hillcrest get off to a slow start. When Steph Goile was dismissed Heidi Arndt came to the wicket and combined with opener Sydney Crocker, batted smartly to finish the innings with an unbeaten second wicket partnership of 88.
Hillcrest High School’s opening bowlers had success early, with Fecility Leydon-Davis bowling a maiden and Courtney Currie picking up a wicket in their first overs of the innings.
Tight bowling and regular wickets saw St Kentigern’s required run rate climb steadily and Hillcrest finished the match with a convincing 35 run win.

Palmerston North Girls’ High School v St Mary’s College
St Mary’s bowled first and did well to contain Palmerston North Girls High School to 38 for four after 11 overs.
An unbeaten sixth wicket partnership of 46 between Nikita Hannam (30*) and Sara Richards (15*) saw Palmerston North Girls High through to the respectable total of 96 for five. Rosemary Cockle was the pick of the bowlers, returning figures of two for ten off her four overs.
St Marys were never in the hunt thanks to a disciplined performance in the field by Girls High and some impressive bowling from Nikita Hannam 3-4 and Abbey Miles 3-8.
Palmerston North Girls’ High School, like Christchurch Girls’ High School, remain unbeaten in the tournament.
