Time for the Tri Series

The WHITE FERNS have rounded off their preparations for the T20 Tri-Series with a final net session at Taunton Vale in Somerset.

WHITE FERNS v England Academy, 2nd T20 warm-up

Suzie Bates showed her class with the bat and Amelia Kerr stood tall with the ball as the WHITE FERNS made it two from two against the England Academy in Taunton over the weekend.

The visitors successfully capped off their preparations for the Tri-Series by completing a convincing 45-run victory.

Bates led the way with the bat, clattering 73 off 48 balls and was ably supported by the in-form Maddy Green (52*) as the WHITE FERNS posted 191 from their 20-overs.

The English Academy got off to a strong start and were 107-1 in the 13th over, before losing 6-23 to derail the run-chase.

The leg-spin of Kerr was pivotal as she snared 2-22 from her four overs through the middle, while Lea Tahuhu bowled with pace and aggression to finish with 2-27.

The WHITE FERNS open their Tri-Series campaign against South Africa on Wednesday, June 20.

The final is at Chelmsford on July 1.

WHITE FERNS v England Academy, 1st T20 warm-up

Hannah Rowe planted the back leg and cleared the rope to secure victory for the WHITE FERNS in the final-over of a valuable T20 warm-up game against the England Academy in Taunton on Saturday.

Chasing 151 for victory, the in-form pairing of Suzie Bates (48) and Maddy Green (34) did the grunt work with a 71-run partnership for the third wicket.

Katey Martin’s first game of the tour showed plenty of promise as she struck four boundaries in a brisk 19 which got the innings going.

Earlier, Rowe (2-23) and Kate Ebrahim (2-25) shared the wickets with Kasperek (2-36), while Hayley Jensen was tough to get away, conceding just 20 runs from her four overs.

Jensen would also prove a cool head in the run-chase as she compiled an assured 12 off 10 balls batting at number seven to secure the four-wicket win with five balls remaining.

The teams meet again on Sunday for their final T20 warm-up match before the opening game of the Tri Series against South Africa on Wednesday, June 20.
