The Auckland War Memorial Museum is set to host The National Bank New Zealand Cricket Award tonight
 
There are 13 individual awards up are up for grabs at The National Bank New Zealand Cricket Awards in a celebration of cricketing excellence.

A number of development awards announced earlier in the year will also be handed over during the ceremony held at The Auckland War Memorial Museum this evening.

Based on the 2010-11 season the awards take into account exceptional performances by players and the contribution of cricket volunteers and administrators.

The winners are decided by an independent selection panel headed by former New Zealand Cricket President and selector, Don Neely along with former BLACKCAP and current SKY Television commentator, Ian Smith; and veteran Radio Sport commentator, Bryan Waddle. 

This year’s awards will be attended by a variety of current and former players including Sir Richard Hadlee who will present the inaugural Sir Richard Hadlee Medal to the supreme player of the year.

The awards also see the introduction of The International Women’s Player of the Year, The National Bank Twenty20 Player of the Year, The National Bank One Day International Player of the Year and The National Bank Test Player of the Year.

The National Bank New Zealand Cricket Awards will be live on SKY TV from 9pm.

Fans Choice for Outstanding Individual Performance
 
The Fans’ Choice award for Outstanding Individual Performance is voted on by cricket fans across the nation. It recognises individual performances that were stellar, either showcasing the massive skill arsenal of the players themselves or having the power to alter match outcomes.
