Taylor hits career-best world ranking

Ross Taylor has jumped to a career-best sixth place on the Reliance ICC player rankings for test batsmen after consecutive centuries in the current ANZ Test Series.

The 29-year-old now sits one place higher than his previous best with 835 points at an average of 46.52.

Taylor has been in sublime form in the ANZ Test Series against the West Indies with his maiden Test double ton in the opening match in Dunedin, ending the innings at 217 not out. He backed that up with a patient 129 in the second Test in Wellington.

In the bowling ranks, man-of-the-match in Wellington Trent Boult rockets to a ranking of 10th, up 11 spots. After his 10-wicket bag in Wellington, Boult sits on 719 points with an average of 26.92.

Tim Southee is also in the top 20 at a ranking of 17, while batsmen Kane Williamson and Brendon McCullum are just outside that top 20 at 26 and 31 respectively.
