Tauranga Intermediate and Heaton Intermediate crowned champions

Tauranga Intermediate School has lifted the NZC Cup (boys’) for the second straight year, while Heaton Intermediate claimed glory in the NZC Shield (girls’) competition.

In the Cup competition, Tauranga Intermediate backed up their two wins on day one with a 17 run victory over Medbury Intermediate.  Marcel Collet was the driving force behind the batting effort with 38, while Taylor Kite continued his fine tournament with 25. He then secured the silverware with figures of three for 13 from four overs to lead his side victory.

Shield winners, Heaton Intermediate, continued their dominance with a tremendous 112 win over Auckland Normal Intermediate. There were two particularly impressive individual performances, with Kirran Maynard making 86 for her side and Amelia Garvey finishing with figures of five for five.
