Canterbury Cricket has announced the appointment of Gary Stead as the new coach of the State Canterbury Magicians.
Canterbury Director of Coaching and Development Richard Hayward commented “We are delighted to be able to appoint someone of Gary’s calibre to coach the Magicians.
"Gary has many years of First Class playing experience which will be invaluable to the development of both the younger members of the squad and the more experienced players, several of whom have been working with Gary through the New Zealand White Ferns and ‘A’ squad training programmes.”
Former BLACKCAPS and State Canterbury Wizards batsman Stead, 34, is also a coach at New Zealand Cricket's High Performance Centre.
