State Twenty20 final abandoned due to weather

Heavy rain and a sodden outfield has give the umpires no choice but to abandon play without a ball being bowled in the State Twenty20 final between the State Otago Volts and State Canterbury Wizards at University Oval in Dunedin.

Otago will be crowned 2008/09 champions after finishing top of the table after the preliminary rounds.

The State Otago Volts were rewarded with the home final after winning six of the seven matched completed in round robin play with the State Canterbury Wizards winning five from seven and sneaking past Auckland on run-rate.


Refund Policy:

1. Terms and Conditions

The following refund terms and conditions apply:

Otago Cricket has agreed to refund the full ticket price for the State Twenty20 final in the event that the game is not completed on the following terms and conditions:

1.1   a)  If the Game is not completed and no result is declared on the scheduled day, then subject to the provisions of clause 2, the holder of the ticket for that Game shall be entitled to a refund of the ticket price.

1.1    b)  The match will be deemed to be completed if the team batting second completes a minimum of 5 overs or a result is declared within the intent of the Laws of Cricket.

2.   Refunds

2.1    Otago Cricket will refund the ticket price on the following terms and conditions:

2.1   a)  The ticket for the game must be received by the ticket agency from where it was purchased by 1 April 2009.

2.1   b)  Any tickets received by the ticket agency after the date specified in clause 2.1a above will not be eligible for any refund and no responsibility will be accepted by Otago Cricket or NZC in respect of such applications for refund.
