BLACKCAPS pace bowler Tim Southee has been rested for the remainder of the England Lions four-day match in Leicester due to a foot injury.
The 24-year-old bowled a short spell this morning on day three after getting through 14 overs yesterday at the Grace Road ground.
Southee will see a specialist this afternoon to assess the injury.
BLACKCAPS head coach Mike Hesson said he was confident that Southee would be fit and available for selection for the first Investec Test starting at Lord’s on Thursday.
