Sinclair Steps Down as Captain

Mathew Sinclair is to step down as captain of the State Central Stags.

Sinclair this week advised Stags coach Dermot Reeve he wishes to relinguish the captaincy of the Stags next season.

"It was an honour to Captain the Stags last season but for personal and family reasons I am deciding to stand down and give someone else the opportunity" said Sinclair

Sinclair made his debut in 1995/96 season and in 80 first class matches for the Stags he has made 6333 runs - a record and in 114 one day matches 3466 runs - also a record.

Central Districts chief executive Blair Furlong said "Mathew had a fantastic 2008/9 season for the Stags and we look forward to another huge contribution next season."
