Sinclair reaches 100 First-Class matches for Central

When Mathew “Skippy” Sinclair walked onto Napier Park to face theWellington Firebirds earlier today he celebrated his 100th First Class match for the Central Stags.

The 35 year-old right-handed batsman has been a regular in the Central Stags side since his debut in a Plunket Shield match against Canterbury on 19 January 1996.

In the 99 matches he has played for the Central he has racked up 7693 runs at an average of 52.69, including 22 centuries. 

To recognise the occasion he was presented with a commemorative cap before the start of the days play.

His overall total of First-Class matches is 168 after also representing the BLACKCAPS in 33 Test matches as well as appearances for Central Conference, Major Associations XI, North Island and a number New Zealand Selection XI’s.
