Sanath hopes for form

Former Sri Lankan captain Sanath Jayasuriya hopes he will be able to regain his form in the upcoming one-day series in New Zealand and Australia.

Jayasuriya has been recalled to the Sri Lankan squad after being dropped for the Test series in India and says he has fond memories of New Zealand particularly.

"New Zealand is a nice country. I made my debut there 15 years ago so obviously I have fond memories," he told AFP.

Sri Lanka will play the remaining four matches of its series against New Zealand from December 31, that were postponed following the Indian Ocean tsunami that hit last Boxing Day.

The team will then compete in the VB Series with Australia and South Africa from January 13.

The 36-year-old has forced his way back into the Sri Lankan squad with solid performances in domestic games and is keen to take his resurgent form into the international level.

"We have had a lot of success against New Zealand in one-dayers and I am expecting the momentum to flow even though we haven't done so well in the past few weeks," he said.

"The series is going to be very tough, especially the Australian leg of the tour. It's a big task for us to regroup and get back to winning ways."
