Ross Taylor to provide cover for Scott Styris

Ross Taylor is travelling to India tomorrow as a precaution should he be required to join the BLACKCAPS as cover for Scott Styris.

BLACKCAPS General Manager, Lindsay Crocker, said that due to tournament rules Ross would not become part of the squad unless Scott was sent home.

“Scott has had a recurrence of a back strain. We want to give Scott every opportunity to remain in the squad and play later in the tournament,” he said.

“In the meantime Ross will take the time to acclimatise and prepare should he be required.”
