Ronchi ruled out pf NZ XI, Watling brought in

Luke Ronchi has been ruled out of the New Zealand XI side to take on England in the upcoming Four Day match at the Queenstown Events Centre.

Ronchi was named captain of the side to play the warm-up match beginning Wednesday 27 February, but suffered a hamstring injury in the Wellington Firebirds final round Plunket Shield match against the Otago Volts. The injury occurred when Ronchi set off for a run on the third day. The 31-year-old is currently being montored in Wellington, but is expected to be available for the majority of the Ford Trophy One Day competition.

BLACKCAPS Test wicketkeeper BJ Watling has been brought in to replace Ronchi and will join the team in Queenstown on Tuesday, while 20-year-old Tom Latham will take over as captain of the side.
