Record crowd expected for HRV Cup final

With less than 48 hours to go till the big HRV Cup final between the Central Stags and the Auckland Aces at Pukekura Park, thousands of fans have already got their tickets, with almost 3,000 presold.

New Zealand Cricket and Central Districts Cricket Association are suggesting you get in early so you don’t miss out on the best game of the season by purchasing tickets through Ticketek or turning up at the gate early on Sunday. Gates open at 11.30am.

New Zealand Cricket domestic manager Alison Beck said it is encouraging to see so many people interested in coming to Pukekura Park to cheer on their local heroes and see some of the BLACKCAPS play. “The tickets are selling fast. It is going to be the game of the season with big names such as Ross Taylor and Jacob Oram playing against Martin Guptill and Scott Styris,” she said. “If you want to come to the game then ensure you book your tickets early as we don’t want anyone to miss out on the being part of the action at the HRV Cup final.”

The game starts at 2pm on Sunday, with the weather predicted to be fine and sunny – perfect conditions for a great time in the sunshine watching the best game of cricket of the year.

Cricket fans are also able to bring in their own picnic, however glass and alcohol are prohibited.
