The Aces battled not only the Stags on day one of their Plunket Shield clash but also the weather and the light in an eventful first day down at Colin Maiden Park.
Rain meant they lost at least an hours play and then bad light near the end of the day didn't help either.
It was tough going for the Aces batsman in conditions that were considerably more favourable to the bowlers.
Auckland Cricket managed to get down in one of the small gaps when it wasn't chucking down or pitch black to catch some of the first day's action.
