Play unlikely this morning

Persistent rain in Wellington means there is unlikely to be any play this morning in the second ANZ Test against England at the Hawkins Basin Reserve.

The BLACKCAPS are 163 for two against England heading into the final day, but still trail by 49 runs. Kane Williamson (55*) and Ross Taylor (41*) are the batsmen currently at the crease.

With the match shaping up to result as a draw, the teams will now likely play a decider at Eden park in Auckland beginning March 22.

A decision to abandon the day’s play will not be made until late this afternoon.
