NZCT Junior Boys Finals 2007

Taupo's Owen Delany Park again hosts the New Zealand Community Trust Finals for Junior Boys, taking place over four days beginning on Monday 26 March.

The championship is an integral part on the New Zealand Cricket player pathway and provides quality playing opportunities for Year 9 and 10 boys through their school teams.

The popularity of the competition is reflected in the continued strong growth in entries since its inception in the 2003/04 season.

A record 144 schools entered the 2006/07 competition with eight teams winning through to the finals event.

The top teams from each of the six major cricket association competitions, plus the runners-up of the two associations with the most entries - Northern Districts and Central Districts - compete for the title.

The finalists are: Auckland Grammar School (Auckland), Hamilton Boys' High School and Tauranga Boys' College (Northern Districts), Napier Boys' High School and New Plymouth Boys' High School (Central Districts), St Patrick's College (Wellington), St Bede's College (Canterbury) and Otago Boys' High School (Otago).

The holders, Tauranga Boys' College, are joined by newcomers St Patrick's College and Napier Boys' High School, while Hamilton Boys' High School will make a third consecutive appearance.

For the event, the teams are divided into two pools of four.

Three days of round-robin play determine the final rankings, with the winners of each pool playing off for the trophy, with three other matches deciding places 3-8.
