NZC appeals Adams suspension

New Zealand Cricket (NZC) has received leave to appeal from National Code of Conduct Commissioner Nick Davidson on the suspension imposed on Andre Adams.

Adams was suspended for one First-Class match by Auckland Cricket Association Code of Conduct Commissioner Andrew Gilchrist after an incident during the State Championship match between Auckland Aces and Central Stags.

NZC sought leave to appeal the decision on the grounds that the penalty set a precedent in New Zealand First-Class cricket, and as such, should be referred to the National Code of Conduct Commissioner.

Mr Davidson has conducted a hearing and his decision is expected within seven days.

No further comment will be made until the decision has been received.
