NZ U-19s square off against Trans-Tasman rivals tomorrow

The New Zealand Under-19s will look to avenge their Three-Day match loss to the Australian Under-19 team tomorrow, when they square off against their Trans-Tasman rivals in the first of three One Dayers at Bert Sutcliffe Oval in Lincoln.

The home side were narrowly beaten by three wickets in the first match of the series which ended on Monday, but were encouraged by some individual performances of note, particularly with the bat. Northern District’s Tim Seifert was one such player to make an impact, producing scores of 59 and 97 from his two innings.

Seifert will be hopeful of continuing his good form in the 50 over format and has been named captain for the first match, with Canterbury’s Leo Carter his deputy.
