NZ-19s arrive in Australia for Tri-Series

The New Zealand Under-19 team arrived in Darwin, Australia yesterday and are now in full swing of their preparation for the Tri-Series Tournament against the host nation and India.

A squad of 14 have made the trip, with the team set to play seven matches in 19 days. They are scheduled to face Northern Territory in a warm-up game June 27, before playing their first round-robin match of the Tri-Series against Australia three days later.

New Zealand, India and Australia will face each other twice, before the resulting top two sides square-off in a final and third place faces Northern Territory on July 12.

New Zealand will also take on Papua New Guinea in a friendly on July 2.

The tournament is a key part of the side’s preparation for the ICC Under-19 World Cup, which will be held in Dubai early next year.
