As a BLACKCAPS sponsor, the nib logo will appear on the players’ sleeve across the ANZ International Series

nib has today announced a major partnership with NZ

New Zealand’s second largest health insurer has signed its first major sponsorship deal and will partner the national cricket team for the upcoming ANZ International Series against the West Indies.

As a BLACKCAPS sponsor, the nib logo will appear on the players’ sleeve across the ANZ International Series which includes the three-match Test Series that starts on December 3 in Dunedin, as well as the One Day International and T20 International series to be played across the country in December 2013 and January 2014.

Chief Executive Officer of nib New Zealand, Ron Hennin, said the sponsorship is set to play a significant role in growing the health fund’s brand and engaging with cricket fans. “As the newest player in the New Zealand health insurance market, we are taking an aggressive approach to build our brand and connect with consumers across the country,” Mr Hennin said.

“New Zealanders love their sport and there is no better way for nib to build our brand and connect with consumers than by aligning ourselves with one of our national sporting teams.

“The nib brand will not only feature on the players’ uniforms but we will be activating the sponsorship at venues across the series to enhance our presence and add to the overall fan experience at the matches.”

NZC CEO, David White, said he was delighted to have nib on board for the upcoming series. “We are delighted to have nib on the BLACKCAPS sleeve for the ANZ International Series versus West Indies.  nib has shown in Australia that they get right behind their partnerships, so we are thrilled to welcome them into the New Zealand Cricket family,”  Mr White said.

The BLACKCAPS sponsorship leverages nib’s role as official health insurance provider of New Zealand Cricket; supporting players to get specialist injury treatment and back on the pitch as quickly as possible.
nib was launched in New Zealand in October 2013 after the Australian-based health insurer purchased Tower Medical Insurance in November 2012. Based in Auckland, the health insurer currently provides cover to more than 160,000 people across New Zealand.
