“There are always plenty of factors to consider when putting together a domestic schedule and we believe the 2011-12 programme offers fans across the country plenty of variety and opportunities to get along and see quality cricket,” New Zealand Cricket Operations Manager Tim Murdoch said.

“The decision to host additional Men’s One-Day and Plunket Shield matches in Canterbury will not only help save some travel costs but is also an opportunity for teams and coaches to network with each other and NZC specialist staff.

“With no international cricket in New Zealand until the end of January the BLACKCAPS have the opportunity to take part in the full HRV Cup and I’m sure the fans are keen to see then in this world class competition.”
