Michael Mason out of first National Bank Test

BLACKCAPS bowler Michael Mason is out of the first National Bank Test against Sri Lanka at Jade Stadium, Christchurch tomorrow with a hamstring injury.

Mason strained his hamstring in the final stages of the last State Central Stags match, and while the injury has improved, he is still not 100% fit.

While this will also count Mason out of the Stags’ next State Championship match, it is anticipated he will be available for selection for the second National Bank Test starting in Wellington on December 15.

One other player will be omitted from the squad tomorrow morning at the toss.

The assessment on Kyle Mills’ injury will be known either later today or early tomorrow morning.
