Lee cops charge

Fiery Australian quick Brett Lee has been officially reprimanded by the ICC for breaching the code of conduct during Australia's third Test match against South Africa at the SCG.

Lee had a heated discussion with umpire Aleem Dar after his lbw appeal against the Proteas' Jacques Kallis was turned down during the first day's play.

At the end of that over, Lee followed Dar to discuss the decision further, leading to a charge being laid against him by both field umpires and third umpire Bob Parry.

The New South Welshman was found guilty of 'showing dissent at an umpire's decision by action or verbal abuse' by ICC Match Referee Chris Broad.

Broad reached his decision in a hearing after the completion of play on day two, the meeting attended by Lee, all three umpires, the Australian team manager Steve Bernard, and skipper Ricky Ponting.
