England Ashes hero Simon Jones believes he is ready to make his return to Test cricket against Sri Lanka at Lord's next month.
Jones - who has not played for England since the fourth Test against Australia at the Oval last year - has been plagued by knee and ankle injuries in recent times.
An ankle complaint ended his Ashes series prematurely and also forced him out of the tour of Pakistan but he looked set to make his return to international cricket during the tour of India before twisting his left knee in a net session.
The mishap forced him back to England for further surgery however Jones believes he is ready for a recall.
"Put simply, I'm as fit and as strong as possible," he told The Guardian newspaper.
"I've done six weeks of rehabilitation, I saw the surgeon two weeks ago and he was really happy, and that gives me confidence everything is right."
"The work I'd done previously to sort out my right knee has actually set me up pretty well to deal with other injuries. I've been doing a lot of running and weight programs, now I just want to get out there and bowl."
Jones has had a wretched run with injury during his career, missing a year of cricket after severely injuring his knee during the 2002 Ashes tour of Australia.
Named earlier in the week as one of Wisden's five cricketers of the year, Jones' 18 wickets were instrumental to England regaining the Ashes.
