Both spinner Bruce Martin and wicketkeeper BJ Watling will not join the BLACKCAPS in the field today after suffering injuries in yesterday’s third day of the first Investec Test at Lord’s.
Watling fell on his knee diving for a run out but an x-ray last night revealed there was no fracture. Medical staff will continue to monitor his injury.
Watling will hand the wicket-keeping gloves to captain Brendon McCullum for the remainder of England’s second innings but he will be available to bat.
Martin has a calf injury that is serious enough to stop him bowling and fielding. He will bat only if required.
