India wraps up series

India claimed its one-day series with Pakistan after taking a five-wicket win in the fourth match at Multan to put a recovery beyond the home team.

Dismissed for 161 in 41.5 overs, Pakistan was destroyed by RP Singh who took 4-40 and Irfan Pathan with 3-26.

India then polished off the target in 32.3 overs for the loss of its five wickets.

Captain Inzamam-ul-Haq was the only home batsman to make an impact with his 49 runs. He did feature in a 68-run stand with Mohammad Yousuf (25).

Any hopes of Inzamam leading a rearguard action were denied by Sachin Tendulkar who trapped him leg before wicket.

While India lost early wickets, Rahul Dravid (59), batting at No.3 played the steady hand that set up the rain chase. He added 85 runs with Yuvraj Singh (37) and while two wickets fell in quick succession, Rahul saw the side through to 133 before he was fifth man out leaving the mopping up work to Suresh Raina (35 not out) to ensure the victory.
