India downs England

India has exacted the first blow of the ICC Champions Trophy after toppling England by four wickets in Jaipur.

Ramesh Powar and Munaf Patel paved the way for the hosts with three wickets apiece, while Irfan Pathan nabbed the important scalp of England skipper Andrew Flintoff for a duck as the visitors capitulated to be all out for 125.

Using up only 37 of their allotted overs, Paul Collingwood was the pick of the England batsmen with a sturdy knock of 38.

And, despite a less than impressive total with the bat, England's bowling attack looked set to get revenge as they ripped through the Indian top order.

Speedster James Anderson marked his return to the international arena with two wickets, while Jamie Dalrymple and Steve Harmison also pitched in with two each.

However, Yuvraj Singh was not about to be stopped before a rampant home crowd and his 27 not out was enough to see India over the line with four wickets and 20.3 overs to spare.
