ICC Women’s World Cup 100 days to go countdown

To mark the 100-day countdown to the ICC Women’s World Cup we thought we’d take a look at some 100-related records for the WHITE FERNS.

100 - It’s just a 100 days to go until the ICC Women’s World Cup gets started in the prime of the British summer. The WHITE FERNS opening encounter of the tournament is against Sri Lanka at Bristol on the 24th of June.

7 - The number of WHITE FERNS who have played 100 or more One Day Internationals. Sara McGlashan (134), Nicola Browne (125), Debbie Hockley (118), Haidee Tiffen (117), Rebecca Rolls (104), Aimee Watkins (103) and Emily Drumm (101) have all achieved the feat. Current captain Suzie Bates is next on the list with 98 and Amy Satterthwaite is not far behind with 95.

168 - The highest ever score by a WHITE FERN. The top knock was notched by Suzie Bates against Pakistan at the ICC Women’s World Cup in 2009. Sydney’s Drummoyne Oval was the scene for the record breaking innings which is the joint fourth highest by a woman in an ODI.

7* - The most ODI hundreds by a WHITE FERN. This record is also held by team captain Suzie Bates. Amy Satterthwaite is only just behind Bates with 6 hundreds.

21 - The number of century partnerships Suzie Bates has been involved in for the WHITE FERNS.

196 - The highest opening partnership by the WHITE FERNS. Rachel Priest and Suzie Bates put on this mammoth opening stand against Sri Lanka in 2015 at Bert Sutcliffe Oval. 262 is the highest partnership for any wicket for the WHITE FERNS. Suzie Bates and Haidee Tiffen combined for the impressive stand against Pakistan at the ICC Women’s World Cup.

408 - The highest winning margin by runs for the WHITE FERNS. This remarkable margin was achieved by the WHITE FERNS against Pakistan at Hagley Oval in 1997.

2 - The number of hundreds in the WHITE FERNS highest team total at an ICC Women’s World Cup. The side made 373/7 featuring hundreds from Suzie Bates and Haidee Tiffen against Pakistan in 2009.

335 - The highest team total by the WHITE FERNS to not include the a century. Kate Pulford made 95 as the team were able to amass 335/4 against the Netherlands in 2002.

19 - How old Suzie Bates was when she became the youngest WHITE FERN to score an ODI hundred. Bates notched an impressive 122 against Australia in 2007.

145 - The joint second highest maiden ODI hundred by a woman. Sophie Devine showed her impressive ball striking ability in notching the score against South Africa in 2013.

Barb Bevege was the first New Zealand player to score a 100 at a Women’s World Cup. She scored 101 as she helped beat an International XI by 184 runs during the 1982 World Cup in New Zealand. It was one of only two 100s scored during the tournament.

Current captain, Suzie Bates, scored the highest total by a New Zealand player in a Women’s World Cup. She scored 168 as the team beat Pakistan by 223 runs during the 2009 tournament in Australia.

Bates also holds the record for most Women’s World Cup 100s scored by a New Zealand player, along with Debbie Hockley. If she scores a 100 during the tournament in England, she will equal England’s Claire Taylor’s record of scoring 100s in three consecutive Women’s World Cups.

The last 100 to be scored by a New Zealand player was the 103 runs scored by Amy Satterthwaite against England during the last tournament in 2013.
