HRV Cup First XI

Although it was the Central Stags who lifted the HRV Cup after yesterday’s explosive final there was consolation for the Auckland Aces with all-rounder Scott Styris topping the Mitre10 MVP points table for the competition.

Styris has been the stand-out performer with bat and ball and just edged out Northern Knights bowler Daniel Vettori by 0.13 of a point to be top pick in the HRV Cup 1st XI (based on MVP points standings).

It is no surprise that big hitting Ross Taylor made the list but it’s international import Graham Napier who is the highest ranked Central Stag in third spot, with most of his points accrued through his lethal bowling.

Tim Southee can reflect on a successful campaign after being the top ranked New Zealand fast bowler in fourth place with all-rounder Jacob Oram rounding out the top five.

Rob Nicol
Daniel Vettori
Ravi Bopara
Ross Taylor
Scott Styris
Jacob Oram
Graeme Napier
Tim Southee
Ian Butler
Daryl Tuffey
Bradley Scott
