James Franklin replaces Daniel Vettori for the fifth and final One-Day International of The National Bank Series against the West Indies at Auckland’s Eden Park.
Vice-captain Vettori is being rested ahead of next week's first Test match, after taking six wickets at 3.225 per over for The National Bank series. He also made a match-winning 53 in the second ODI at Queenstown - in partnership with Franklin.
Left-armer Franklin returns to the team in good form. The all-rounder hit a First-Class double hundred and took four wickets for State Wellington Firebirds this week.
The 25-year-old featured in the first three games of the series and came back into the party to replace the injured Michael Mason.
The BLACKCAPS squad for the first Test will be announced on Sunday.
