England all-rounder Andrew Flintoff is in doubt for the first Test against Pakistan at Lord's next month due to injury.
Flintoff has been sidelined with an injured left ankle - the same ankle where a bone spur was removed last year - since the third Test defeat by Sri Lanka three weeks ago, which gained the visitors a 1-1 series draw.
While loathe to rule himself out, Flintoff said that his availability will not be any clearer for a fortnight when a full examination takes place.
"We will have another look in two weeks and see where we are," Flintoff told Reuters.
"There is scar tissue in there and whether the bone fragments were the result of the operation or were already in there, we don't know."
"We are going down the route of physio and exercises to strengthen the ligaments around the ankle," Flintoff said.
"I am not running at the moment, I am doing a lot of cycling. I am doing things that don't cause pain and trying to tick over.
"So far it has been good, there are no adverse affects."
England, depleted by injuries to Flintoff, skipper Michael Vaughan, Simon Jones, Ashley Giles and James Anderson in recent times, has slumped to 0-4 in its current one-day series with Sri Lanka after a 33-run defeat on Wednesday.
The first Test against Pakistan starts on July 13.
