BLACKCAPS Coach Mike Hesson was excited about the flair the new faces brought to the side and felt confident the players would thrive on the opportunity to represent New Zealand.

“We believe the squad has a good blend of experience and young talented players who we are sure are ready for the challenges ahead,” Hesson said.

“Corey Anderson, Jimmy Neesham, Colin Munro, Derek de Boorder and Mitchell McClenaghan are in good form and have shown considerable promise.  They deserve their chance to impress at a higher level.

The other change from the Twenty20 side sees Peter Fulton return, having last played for the BLACKCAPS in 2009. Fulton has been one of the most consistent batsmen in domestic cricket this year and is no stranger to international cricket.
