New Canterbury of New Zealand kit will debut in ANZ ODI Series v South Africa.

First look at new BLACKCAPS 2014-15 ODI kit

Canterbury of New Zealand and New Zealand Cricket are proud to announce the release of the new BLACKCAPS playing kit for the 2014-2015 season, to be worn for the first time when the team takes on South Africa in the ANZ One Day International on Tuesday 21 October.

The most striking feature of the new ODI kit is the intricate NZC fern design that covers the back of the playing shirt; an iconic symbol of New Zealand sporting pride and achievement.

Whilst retaining the striking black coloration synonymous with our national cricket team, the new design has introduced blue and cyan to the back of the shirt calling out the fern.

Speaking about the launch of the new kit, Canterbury of New Zealand, Australasian Managing Director Michael O’Donnell, said:

“The new ODI kit design was produced in full consultation with the team and management, and we’re thrilled with the contemporary and innovative features achieved in the kit”.

“Along with striking graphics, the garment is lightweight and designed to wick moisture from the skin to provide key player comfort.

“Canterbury strives to embody the spirit and drive of competitive sport in the designs we create.

“The Fern symbolises the pride we have as New Zealanders in the achievements of our sports teams and players,” he said.

BLACKCAPS Team Manager Mike Sandle, said that the team and management are very excited about the new kit for this 2014-2015 season.

“We're thrilled with the design, the players were involved in the initial brainstorm session with Canterbury so it’s been great to see the new shirt come to life.

We're looking forward to seeing our fans wearing it this summer and showing support for the BLACKCAPS across what is going to be a huge season of cricket.”

The new ODI shirt design will also be worn by the White Ferns, who will debut it when they take on England at home in February.

The playing kit will be debuted at the ANZ One Day International against South Africa on Tuesday 21 October at the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui.
