Sri Lanka has chased down a whopping total of 321-7 set by England to take the fifth one day international of the series with 12 overs to spare.
Batsmen Sanath Jayasuriya and Upul Tharanga were the stars of the show as they steered the visitors to 324-2, sharing a stand of 286 in the process.
Jayasuriya was back to his clinical best as he smashed 152 from 99 balls while Tharanga made 109 to give Sri Lanka an unassailable 5-0 series lead.
Earlier in the day, England batsman Marcus Trescothick was in sublime form as he steered England to a formidable total and what looked like a possible first win of the series.
The Somerset left-hander punished the Sri Lankan bowling attack, sharing stands of 82 and 75 with Alastair Cook and Ian Bell respectively.
After a rare display of positivity with the bat, England looked to have the match decided early when it steamrolled its way to 321-7.
However, Jayasuriya, playing his last one day international on English soil, proved why he is considered one of the world's great batsmen in the limited overs form of the game with his classy match-winning innings.
