England finally gets win

Stand-in skipper Andrew Strauss blasted a captain's knock of 74 to guide England to a five wicket win over India in the sixth one day international at Jamshedpur.

Strauss grafted away with Ian Bell (46) for a 107-run partnership, before cramp forced him to retire hurt.

Star in-form batsman Kevin Pietersen then took over where his skipper left of with a debonair knock of 33.

India, batting first, appeared to struggle early in the day before MS Dhoni and Ramesh Powar combined well for a century stand to lift the host nation's total to 223.

At the 16th over mark, India had capitulated to 79-5.

However, Dhoni soon dispatched any English hopes of a low score, hitting three sixes on the way to a solid innings of 96.

James Anderson was the pick of the visitors' bowlers with 3-28 from his spell as India was toppled in the 48th over.

Batting second in humid conditions that took their toll on Strauss, England had no trouble cutting down the total with five wickets and 7.2 overs to spare.
