Dunedin to Host HRV Cup Final

Dunedin will host the HRV Cup Final for the first time in five seasons after confirmation by New Zealand Cricket (NZC) that the 2013 title is to be decided at University Oval next Sunday, 20 January.

Tickets to the 4.30pm final between top qualifiers the Otago Volts and their yet-to-be determined opponents can be snapped up online now, atwww.otagocricket.co.nz - and with capacity at the ground likely to be tested, New Zealand Cricket is advising cricket fans to get in quick.

Tickets will also be available for purchase from Otago Cricket's office at University Oval between the hours of 8.30am and 5.30pm from Monday to Friday this week.

All presale tickets are available at the special prices of Adult $20, Child (18 or under) $7 and Family (2 x Adult, 2 x Child) $45. In the unlikely event of tickets remaining available at the gate on the day, the prices will be Adult $25, Child $10 and Family $55.

With four teams still in contention to join the Otago Volts in the final, attention will be riveted on the three games taking place concurrently this afternoon (Sunday 13 January). The HELL Wellington Firebirds and SKYCITY Northern Knights are in the box seat to play off for the Preliminary Final (second qualifier versus third qualifier) on January 18, but either the Auckland Aces or Canterbury Wizards could yet displace one of those teams if they win their remaining rounds and other results fall their way.

NZC has confirmed a reserve day of Monday, 21 January for the HRV Cup Final should weather prevent a result. Should no result be possible on either day, fans will be entitled to a refund on ticket purchases.

Both the HRV Cup Preliminary Final and Final will be broadcast live by SKY TV.
