Doug Bracewell to replace Andrew Ellis in Champions Trophy squad

The BLACKCAPS have received approval from the ICC Champions Trophy Event Technical Committee to replace Andrew Ellis, who was withdrawn from the squad on 16 May 2013 with a rib injury, with fast bowler Doug Bracewell.

Event Technical Committee approves replacement in New Zealand squad for ICC Champions Trophy 2013

The ICC has confirmed that the Event Technical Committee of the ICC Champions Trophy 2013 has approved Doug Bracewell as a replacement player for Andrew Ellis in the New Zealand squad for the tournament that will be staged in the United Kingdom from 6 to 23 June.

Ellis was replaced due to a rib fracture.

The replacement of a player requires the approval of the Event Technical Committee before the replacement player can be officially added to the squad.

The Event Technical Committee of the ICC Champions Trophy 2013 consists of Geoff Allardice (ICC, chairman), Campbell Jamieson (IDI representative), Steve Elworthy (Tournament Director), Alan Fordham (host representative), David Lloyd (independent nomination) and Sourav Ganguly (independent nomination).
