WHITE FERNS power hitter Sophie Devine already has the fastest international T20 half century in the world. Now she owns the fastest WBBL century as well.

That was how import Devine went to Boomtown with an unbeaten 103 for the Adelaide Strikers in a Boxing Day bonanza across the Tasman.
It was only the second century in the history of the Australian T20 showcase and off just 48 balls as Devine smashed 10 boundaries and eight sixes to help the Strikers smother the Hobart Hurricanes' 143/3 in just 16.3 overs, Devine instantly the talk of the women's cricket world.

Signs are clear that Devine is back to her brilliant best after a run of 43 (38 balls), 41 not out (27 balls) and 43 (33 balls) in her previous three bats of the competition, a tally now of 230 runs at an average of 115 and a strike rate of 157. Devine leads all the major batting categories in the WBBL, including highest aggregate runs, average, strike rate, most sixes (13) and fours (22).
While WHITE FERNS captain Suzie Bates will be in action in New Zealand today with the Otago Sparks as the New Zealand domestic T20 Competition resumes, Devine will miss this week’s round in Lincoln — but if they weren’t already, her Australian teammates and opponents alike will be bracing themselves now for when she steps out for the WHITE FERNS three T20s and three ODIs against Australia in February and March.
