The Chennai Super Kings, coached by former BLACKCAP Stephen Fleming, have overcome Daniel Vettori’s Bangalore Royal Challengers in the first qualifying match of the IPL finals.
The win sees Chennai vault into the final with Bangalore getting another life as they get set to face the winner of the Mumbai-Kolkata clash on May 27.
After a shaky start by Chennai, Suresh Raina lead the way with a superb 73 not out of 50 deliveries, helping his team chase down Bangalore’s 175 for four.
Bangalore looked to have the match in the bag until last final overs when the Zaheer was hit for 20 runs in the 17th, Aravind for 21 in the 19th and Vettori went for 13 off the first four balls of the final over.
Earlier, Virat Kohli starred for Bangalore with a brilliant 70 off 44 balls.
