Bob Carter appointed High Performance Coach

Bob Carter has been appointed the New Zealand Cricket High Performance Coach and will begin the role next month.

Based in Lincoln, the position will oversee a number of development sides such as New Zealand Under-19 and New Zealand A, the latter of which he’ll coach during their tour of England this July.
Carter leaves his post as BLACKCAPS Assistant Coach having held the position since August 2012. The 53-year-old said he had thoroughly enjoyed his time with the team, but was equally excited to get further involved in the development of the sport.

“Over the past twenty months I have enjoyed working with the players and support staff to mould a BLACKCAPS side which is capable of beating the top teams in world cricket. The team can move forward with confidence towards the ICC 2015 World Cup,” said Carter.

“'I am very excited to take up this new position and look forward to helping the next group of players make the right preparation for the jump to international cricket.”

NZC is now advertising for a replacement to join the BLACKCAPS tour of West Indies.
