The BLACKCAPS will rest Daniel Vettori, James Franklin and Jesse Ryder in today’s Group D match of the ICC World Twenty20 against South Africa.
Vettori is being further rested after suffering muscle tearing at training last week, and is expected to return to match fitness soon. James Franklin twisted his knee in training yesterday, but the injury is not considered serious. Jesse Ryder has continued to suffer some discomfort following a groin strain and will be further assessed over the next few days..
The team will be captained today by Brendon McCullum.
