Kane Williamson’s men have one point in Group A, after the Birmingham weather denied them a push for victory in their tournament opener and hosts England took the points at Sophia Gardens in game two.

Coach Mike Hesson said his side had moved on from Tuesday’s defeat, although they’d take some valuable lessons into their clash with Bangladesh.
“We’ve learned a lot about the surface and the conditions at Sophia Gardens. It’s going to be about assessing again on the day.”

It rained yesterday, it’s rained on match eve and it’s meant to rain in the early morning on game day. BUT it’s scheduled to clear in time for the first ball. There could be ground delays and a reduced overs fixture in store - 20 overs a side is the minimum needed to constitute a game and ensure two points are up for grabs.
