BLACKCAPS players on the rise in ICC Rankings

The BLACKCAPS may have been knocked out of the ICC Champions Trophy before the semi finals, but some strong individual performances have helped a number of players rise up the ICC ODI rankings.

While becoming the highest wicket-taker in the history of the ICC Champions Trophy, Kyle Mills rose four spots up to 12th on the ODI bowling rankings. Dan Vettori celebrated his successful comeback performances by re-entering at number 16.

A little further down, Nathan McCullum and Mitchell McClenaghan both made big jumps, with McCullum up seven spots into 38th and recent revelation McClenaghan rising 15 spots to 41st. A higher spot beckons for McClenaghan if he continues at his current rate, with his average of 16.51 better than any of those in the top ten at the moment.

In the batting rankings Ross Taylor (11), Martin Guptill (14) and Brendon McCullum (16) all occupy spots in the top 20, while Kane Williamson benefits from his recent string of strong performances to sit nine places up in 21st.

South Africa’s AB de Villiers sits atop of the batting ladder, while West Indie's Sunil Narine is ranked the number one ODI bowler in the world.
