Nine New Zealand children are set to enjoy the cricketing experience of their dreams in the ANZ International Series between England and the BLACKCAPS during February and March.
ANZ is offering their customers the opportunity to nominate keen young cricket fans aged between seven and 13 to win the chance to participate in the vital coin toss alongside the England and BLACKCAPS captains, with one lucky child accompanying the captains before each of the upcoming ANZ Twenty20s, ANZ ODIs and ANZ Test matches.
BLACKCAPS captain Brendon McCullum said "It's a great initiative and we're really looking forward to escorting the young winners out into the middle for the toss before each match.
"It's definitely a completely different perspective looking around from the middle. You see the players' view of the stadium and the crowd, and as a dad of a young cricket fan myself, I know it will be a big day in the lives of the lucky young winners."
The first of the ANZ Coin Toss winners was Isaiah Pearson from Torbay Primary School in Auckland.
ANZ Head of Sponsorship, Susan McGregor, says it will be a thrilling experience for each youngster.
"Isaiah Pearson is one of only nine children being chosen to participate in the Coin Toss at each of the ANZ International Series cricket matches this summer.
“It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for a young cricket fan to stand side by side with the two international captains and be there for the moment that gets the whole match going.”
The ANZ Crew will also be out supporting the supporters at every match in the ANZ International Series giving out free sunblock, 4 & 6 placards to help fans cheer on their team. The ANZ International Series began on Saturday with the first ANZ Twenty20 International at Eden Park, Auckland, with the next game happening tomorrow night at Seddon Park, Hamilton.
