Another Adams signs for the Aces

Auckland will be pinning a good chunk of their hopes on two men called Adams during this season's HRV Cup competition.

Hampshire's Jimmy Adams was today named as Auckland's second overseas player, playing alongside former BLACKCAP Andre Adams.

Jimmy, 30, is an accomplished left--handed opening batsman who finished the Twenty20 County competition as the leading runs scorer and was the first to surpass 600 runs in a domestic Twenty20 season.  He is also renowned as a talented fielder and has represented England at age group level.

Former Auckland player Lou Vincent will also be available as a local player.

With Auckland coach Paul Strang keen for continuity in the squad for the duration of the Twenty20 campaign, all three players are available for the entire 10 round robin games and final.

Jimmy Adams and Lou Vincent have signed solely for the Twenty20 competition in December, while Andre Adams is contracted for the entire season.

Strang said he was delighted to have such experience and skills at his disposal.

"We've got a very exciting and talented squad and these three guys just up the skill level that much more. They are all really high quality cricketers," Strang said.
