Fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar should be fit for Pakistan's tour of England which starts late next month.
Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq is confident that his fast bowling ace can come back from a knee operation and a stress fracture in his back.
"Shoaib is an important member of our attack.
"We would like to go there our first line pack of bowlers," Inzamam told BBC Sport.
Akhtar has been bowling in the nets and will attend a fitness camp at the end of the month to prove his fitness for the tour.
"The reports about his rehabilitation are very positive. He is in the gym and has also started bowling in the nets.
"We will invite him for the camp and hopefully he should be 100 percent fit soon," he said.
With 165 Test and 199 ODI wickets, Akhtar is regarded as crucial to Pakistan's hopes.
Meanwhile, former Pakistan captain and coach Javed Miandad doesn't agree with International Cricket Council plans to allow players to make appeals to the third umpire.
Players will be allowed three appeals per innings to the third umpire if the ICC Cricket Committee recommendation is confirmed by the full ICC.
"This will complicate things. It basically sends a message to the umpires 'we don't have confidence in you," Miandad said.
"The technology is not always correct and there is no relevancy between an umpire taking a decision in a fraction of second and these later shown in slow motion.
