2016/17 Summer Domestic Schedules

Another action-packed summer of domestic cricket is in store, with New Zealand Cricket today announcing the full list of men’s Ford Trophy and Plunket Shield fixtures for the 2016/17 season and the women’s One Day and Twenty20 schedules.

Four-day cricket will once again kick off the men’s season on 22 October, with five of the 10 competition rounds played until late November, before making way for the T20 competition which is set to return to the popular holiday period and run until mid-January.

Details of the men’s domestic T20 competition will be announced on Friday.

The Ford Trophy will be played off the back of the T20s, the competition commencing in mid-January and culminating in a three-match preliminary finals series, followed by the Grand Final on Saturday 18 February.

The second half of the Plunket Shield competition finishes off the season with the final day on Saturday 1 April 2017.

The women’s competition will follow the WHITE FERNS' homes series against Pakistan, beginning 25 November 25.

The domestic women’s One-Day and Twenty20 competitions will again run concurrently, two teams playing each other in both formats over a three-day period before a finals weekend on 11-12 February 2017.

France Mackay’s Canterbury Magicians will open their T20 title defence away to the Wellington Blaze, while defending One-Day champions the Auckland Hearts face Northern Spirit at Cobham Oval in Whangarei.

After five full rounds of Twenty20 and 10 rounds of One-Day action and finals, the WHITE FERNS' squad to face Australia at home will be named.

Every match of the 2016/17 domestic season will be live-scored on www.blackcaps.co.nz and the six Major Association websites.
